A poem for the road

When we were silent
They said we are timids.
When we walked away
They said we are cowards.
We were pushed to the walls
We are pushing back.
Reclaiming lost grounds
They call us REBELS.

When we listened
They said it all.
When we waited
They made us sore footed.
We were raped
We grew groaning.
We reject their “gospels”
They said we are RADICALS.
